As a writer, do you worry about maintaining a consistent voice on your blog or just shoot the moon?

Stephen E. Dinehart ‏ @StephenDinehart: As a writer, do you worry about maintaining a consistent voice on your blog or just shoot the moon?

ANSWER:

I told someone recently: I dont write anything UNLESS I’m worried about what people will think of me afterwards. which means its often hard to keep a consistent voice.

I do get stressed about this, though. Sometimes I write about my life. Sometimes I write about what I’ve learned from others. Sometimes I write about whatever and it comes out crazy. I get worried when I’m not consistent that I will lose a part of my audience. And maybe I will. I don’t know. Nobody knows.

The only thing to make sure is to do two things:

A) Bleed on the page

B) Say something that delivers value to people.

Don’t worry about writing style, or consistent voice, or whatever, if you have the above two things.
